The S1 6-4-4-6 Duplex steam locomotive of 1939. That locomotive is one of the coolest looking American experimental steam locomotives ever made! It hauled trains like the Trail Blazer the Pennsy’s all coach competitor to the Pacemaker, and the Manhattan limited, a train the T1 duplex also hauled. Like this locomotive cuz it was on display at the fair where it ran on rollers up to 60 mph, and it was the largest rigid frame duplex locomotive of its kind in the world. Also like it cuz it has an air horn and whistle like 4449 and it reminds me of Eastern European steam locomotives cuz some of those had both air horns and whistles, even the 2 Chinese QJ’s in Iowa, 6988 and 7081 have air horns and whistles. Supposedly, even the S1 could have run as fast as the 3463 or the T1, 130 or 140mph.
