What I love about the Cumbres & Toltec is that the railroad has all of the original structures and equipment from the days of the Rio Grande. The natural beauty of the land it travels through makes it even better. This railroad is an excellent preserved piece of history that definitely earned the place it holds on the national register of historic places.

My wife and I took a trip to Colorado with the focus of visiting as many of the railroad related sites as possible. I’m so glad made the long drive from Denver to spend the day on the Cumbres and Toltec. It was the highlight of our trip. Really enjoyed the scenery and the railroad experience. The crew was great, everyone friendly and knowledgeable. Look forward to visit again.
