Do you remember watching Pentrex? The company produced many hour-long videos showcasing different railroads around the continent. One consistent and crucial element of these was the narrator who would describe the history and scenes unfolding. Dave Drui is that narrator, and he talks with us about how he became involved with these productions and why they have made him appreciate trains and railroads even more.

Favorite VHS? Pentrex BN E Units along the Racetrack! I lived in Hinsdale, Illinois in the late 60s, early 70s, only a few blocks from what was the Burlington at the time. My Dad rode the train back and forth to work downtown, and I have vivid memories of the sights and sounds of the E’s accelerating out of town, or roaring thru with an express. The Pentrex tape brought back a lot of memories for both me and my Dad, who has since passed away. The interview with Dave Drui was even more enjoyable for me because of this. Not to mention that he is from Seattle, where we moved to from Chicagoland back in 1973. Thanks for the always enjoyable and informative podcast!
Thank you so much for interviewing Dave! Great episode.
